Pension Policy

IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE THAT –

All older Americans have enough money to live on when they retire.

PENSION POLICY SHOULD:

• End inequities for people now in pension plans
• Encourage new plans that provide pensions fairly
• Promote a nationwide pension assistance system
• Level the playing field for enforcing pension rights

Some measures that would further these four goals have already been incorporated into legislation introduced into Congress. Others have been endorsed by grassroots pension action coalitions and national retiree, employee and women’s organizations, and still others are waiting for “pension champions” to urge their adoption.
