Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are retirement savings arrangements that can be set up through financial institutions, such as banks, life insurance companies, and credit unions, and through stockbrokers. There are six different types of IRAs. Each has its own rules. The most common are Traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs. To learn how much individuals can contribute to IRAs each year, view our list of retirement plan contribution limits.
